Today we’d like to introduce you to Allen Benatar.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I started playing drums at around 8yrs old, on pots and pans and in school plays. At the age of 13 I got my first Drum kit (with my barmitzvah money) and never looked back. It was a Red Pearl Export Series kit. I still have the floor tom in my basement till this day.
At the age of 15 I started playing in my “first real band” and began playing shows. About 4yrs later we started touring around the US & Canada. The band had a strong run from 1997-2007. When the band split in 2007, I was compelled to get back on the road and joined a band in Boston, MA. We also went on to open for National Acts and tore it up on the road. A few years after that I moved out to Miami, FL to pursue other opportunities and worked with a plethora of Rock/Metal bands and even a Platinum Recording hip-hop Artist “Baby Blue/Pretty Ricky”.
I know reside in Los Angeles, CA where I also work as a professional Actor and have toured with multiple bands (most recently to Brazil).
My latest band is set to release our Music within the next few weeks. It is like nothing I have ever done before and expect it to be a long term, killer project. I’m super excited about it and look forward to sharing more with you guys as the chaos unfolds!
Please tell us about your art.
Music and Acting are my passion. I love sharing my creative art with people whether it’s making them laugh or taking them through a story of Musical chaos. Live performance is where I shine. Being on stage is what I live for, and there is no feeling that compares.
We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
