Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Silberstein.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Alex. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started with the company in June of 2012 at our New York City location as a floor manager. I was always a craft beer fan, but I didn’t know that much about the industry or beer in general. I quickly fell in love with diversity of flavors beer can offer and ingrained myself in the community as much as possible. Shortly after becoming General Manager of the New York Location, I got involved with the planning of our Boston bar and have been working here full time since February of 2016.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it has not been a smooth road. You hear a lot of horror stories from folks who have been through the build-out and opening phases of a restaurant, but until you experience, you’ll never really be able to relate. From delays in construction to staff turnover to slow sales, the first year was tough, but we are coming out of the woods and I couldn’t be more excited for what lies ahead.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a public house / tavern that focuses on craft & specialty beer. I am the most proud of our dedication to teaching our guests about new and exciting products, and perpetuating the craft beer movement. I think this same dedication and focus on knowledge sets us apart from others.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was outgoing, fun loving and caring. My interests included basketball, music and seeing my friends.
