Meet Alex Lignadis of Kingston Grille & Bar in Downtown Boston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Lignadis.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve been in the Boston nightlife and restaurants for over 12 years. I’ve been in love with this type of work my whole life, especially working with people. I’ve been from a chef to head of security in restaurants and clubs so, it’s in my blood. I was blessed with KGB when I walked in this place and saw the potential. The atmosphere, the energy and people got to me, I had to have it. So I spoke with the owner, told him how I love this place and where I see it going and they gave me chance. Besides having amazing food, I’m trying to make this place one of Boston’s best hidden lounges, with amazing food and cocktails. Weekly nightly events from Friday- Sunday gives us a boost of energy with amazing music, people and a colorful atmosphere that not many places in our area have. I’m blessed to be here and I hope one day everyone has a chance to experience KGB.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to Kingston Grille& Bar hasn’t been easy at all it took a lot of blood sweat and tears to make it what it is now. We are on a street that not a lot of people knew about and the obstacle was trying to bring people to us. It took me going out in the cold and the rain and in the snow to talk to people and introduce myself and my business and convince them to stop by and give me a chance. Same with doing night time events, it was just as difficult convincing people to come to me instead of my competitors which are huge clubs and lounges just walking distance away from me. But once people saw what I saw I earned their trust and people come to me now as regulars and family.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Kingston Grille & Bar – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Kingston Grille& Bar is located at 25 Kingston Street, in the heart of Boston. I consider it one of Boston’s best hidden gems. Our atmosphere, I would say is a modern rustic style lounge. Our food has flavors from all around the world made from our Chef Doumar. From our amazing swordfish to our 14 ounce ribeye steak, that you can’t go in any bar and have something that beautiful that delicious for that price. We also offer amazing comfort food such as our 8 ounce burgers, truffle fries and fish and shrimp tacos. We have amazing bartenders that make the most beautiful cocktails that I have ever seen. Are bar is known from our famous blackberry attraction and lady Rose cocktails.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plan is to see Kingston Grille& Bar be the to go place in Boston. From having the best Latin night on Fridays, which is on the works, to having the best dance night for Saturday nights with DJs playing top 40 dance mixes. Sundays, we currently have the best day party I believe in Boston. Sold out every Sunday. We have a ton of events in the works and I just see this place being a huge success.
