Today we’d like to introduce you to Alecia Gulczynski.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Air Draulic Engineering (ADE) is a private, family owned and operated company based in Randolph, Massachusetts. Since 1950, ADE has been providing cutting-edge, solution driven conveyor systems for consumer product manufacturing. We offer comprehensive material handling solutions to global industrial and commercial sectors. We also specialize in a variety of custom metal fabrication products, including but not limited to supporting solids, handling and conveying operations This a four-generation family business that got its start with Polish immigrant Stefan Gulczynski, who invented the air ram in 1939. Air Draulic was started by Stefan Gulczynski and his son, Frank. The company is now also a leading maker and supplier of custom conveyor systems and continues to be run by Franks son, Paul and Paul’s daughter, Alecia.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We struggled the most around the early 2000s with the terror attack into the World Trade Center. the economy was stunned and that almost caused us to close the doors but Frank made sure he kept us afloat and took a chance by investing a large amount of his own money back into the business to make it through the uncertainty.

Please tell us about Air Draulic Engineering Co..
We are a CUSTOM conveyor manufacturing company. We don’t have a warehouse with all of our finished products in it. All applications are brought from concept to design to fabrication and installation with our team of experts. We are the ONLY conveyor manufacturer that provides “”custom solutions” and “system integrations” methods in the industry. We are also one of the original companies of its kinds. We are very proud to have not lost that personal touch with ADE being owned and operated by Stefan’s grandson son and great grand daughter Alecia. We have had many opportunities to blow the roof of the company but have made the chose to stay small, humble and personal. Don’t be surprised when the President of the company, Paul shows up at your facility with a tool bag to assist in installation and start-up.
