Meet Abby Reid of The Sun Tan Van

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abby Reid.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Abby. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I created The Sun Tan Van after my love of spray tans and skin health. I wanted to create a convenient and easy business model and mobile was the way to go! We offer an organic solution with multiple shades. No other spray tanning company offers spray tans IN a luxury van, anywhere, anytime! My clients have been super loyal and supportive of me in my early years.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being a one-of-a-kind business, there were no other models to get ideas from. The whole experience has been exciting, fun and educational. I’ve had so many people help me along the way and I’m very thankful! The hardest part is gaining exposure but I find word of mouth is always the best way to get your name out there.

The Sun Tan Van – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Seeing how spray tans are offered in the van that kind of separates us from everybody else. We offer an organic solution in multiple shades and we always strive to have the best customer service. I’m very proud of my team and all their hard work! I’m very pleased with the product that we offer; it’s definitely the best on the market! We also offer in home tans which are great for the colder months and group events.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To me being successful means you’re happy. You can’t quite put a monetary value on it, but paying the bills is always important. Success is when you provide an ethical and fair business. If you’re happy on a day to day basis with what you’ve created that is truly a blessing. My goal in the long run is to have a presence all over New England. For there to be a Sun Tan Van presence just down the block from everybody.
