Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Yebba.
Nicole, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started in the beauty business in 2001 doing permanent cosmetics. In 2002, I was trained in lash extensions and opened my own beauty business specializing in the eyes of Middleton, MA. After a few years, I partnered and ran a lash/permanent cosmetic studio on Newbury Street for 5 years before opening my own Beauty Secrets Studio in Charlestown. In 2016, I added Microblading to my services. I have now come full circle and have relocated Beauty Secrets back to Middleton. I am now booked with clients as well as training and wholesale.
Has it been a smooth road?
As far as the service goes, it has been amazing. I love my work and I love working with clients. My services give instant gratification, so I get to make people happy all day. I have been so fortunate and have never had to advertise, all of my clients have come from referrals and word of mouth.
I did come across a struggle when I partnered with women who did not run things correctly. She stole, cut corners, and treated everyone poorly. To separate from her I had to hire lawyers and spent a lot of money. In the end, everything turned out great but it was a very expensive and stressful lesson to learn. I look back and feel fortunate now to have full control of my business.
My advice to young women is to follow your gut and your instincts. Women have great insticts, we just need to listen! Work hard at what you do, like what you do and customers will come.

Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
I have grown up in a family of entrepreneurs with many family businesses and have worked from a young age. I have learned to have a great work ethic and to not be afraid of starting a business of my own. I value my clients and bend over backward to accommodate them and make them feel special.
