Today we’d like to introduce you to Ksenia Putintseva.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ksenia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a physician who is passionately in love with fashion.
I was born & raised in Moscow, Russia, and moved to the United States about six years ago. My passion for style started back to my teenage years when I was reading countless magazines admiring beautiful models wearing the latest trends and examining beautiful designer collections. Well… when you are 14, you are not that independent in choosing what to wear and experiment a lot. Throughout many years thereafter, my love for fashion grew bigger, and the expanding world of social media with an overwhelming amount of style bloggers and influencers advanced my interest in fashion.
Me and my husband used to live in Manhattan for a few years then job brought us to Boston. No doubt, New York is one of the world fashion capitals. I always wanted to bring this world to New England, and I was very fascinated to see that the fashion industry here is now expanding and I am glad to be a part of it.
Besides my career in healthcare, I started blogging about a year ago on my Instagram page and attracted many followers as an influencer in various spheres of life, including:
1. Fashion: I love talking about the latest trends, and cover different fashion events I attend.
2. Shopping: I am a smart shopaholic, and try to teach my readers how to do so.
3. Motherhood: I am a mom of a two-year-old toddler – make raising him fun & easy.
4. Career: I do medical & educational consulting for fellow doctors & medical students, including those on USMLE path. I am ECFMG certified, with three years of Ob/Gyn experience, currently working the in Anesthesiology department in clinical research and administration.
I really love the world of fashion blogging because it brought me a lot of new interesting and diverse followers as well of enjoyment of working with brands, meeting new people and going on fashion weeks. It is really amazing to work with all kinds of people and learn a lot from their experience, share your thoughts and ideas. The World of Fashion is interesting and beautiful – and it is for everyone! I know a lot of young ladies are scared to get in, thinking that it is unapproachable. But I always love motivating people saying that it is! You just need to love it and be passionate about what you – then nothing is impossible whether you want to do it as your main career or your hobby.
Has it been a smooth road?
It is never a smooth road. But no-one needs to be afraid to try. I always said to myself that it is better to regret what you have tried than to regret things you did not. Everything in the world comes with some difficulties, one should always consider it as experience and move forward. Never let it get you down!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Doctor in Fashion – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am a trained physician with specialization in Obstetrics/Gynecology. I recently gave up my clinical work in order to work in research and hospital administration. I still do a lot of medical consulting, and networking with healthcare providers in order to help my followers (or of course, friends and family) receive the best healthcare. Fashion has been my hobby for many years. And only during the last year I started having more time to devote it to working on my Instagram page. I always found a world of social media very interesting, and I love that I made my page very diverse – speaking about medicine, as well as fashion. Oh, wait, also motherhood. I am trying to make it a perfect lifestyle blog. 😉
Who have you been inspired by?
Speaking of fashion inspiration it is definitely Coco Chanel. No other words needed. I always admired her ability to combine classic style clothes with statement details, being necklace/earrings/brooch. I love simplicity in clothing. Speaking of modern bloggers, there are so many of them who’s style I like – but I will highlight Brittany Xavier and Helena Glazer Hodne (brooklynblonde1).
