Today we’d like to introduce you to Jena Clough.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jena. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started pole dancing 10 years ago and never stopped. I pole danced through 2 pregnancies and now own my very own pole dance studio. I have been competing and performing for almost 2 years and travel to do so. I will be teaching my signature workshops in other states and areas of Massachusetts starting in 2019. I am also a brand ambassador for multiple pole dance companies like Home Pole Studios and a PSO Unicorn. I will be pole dancing for as long as this body will let me and I encourage my 2 children to follow in my footsteps and follow their own dreams. Won’t surprise me if they end up dancers and aerial artists themselves.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No following your dreams is never easy. If it were easy then you’re not doing something right! I have had many struggles of finding the right location for DreamFyre Pole Fitness. We are at our 4th location now and making it work here on Cape Cod is challenging but worth it all! I have so much advice for other women starting with “know your self-worth” to “be confident in who you are” and “we are all sisters”. At DreamFyre Pole Fitness with are all sisters (some brothers too!) and we promote self-love, empowerment through dance, and being comfortable… loving the skin you’re in.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with DreamFyre Pole Fitness – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I teach pole dance classes, private lessons, video lessons, workshops, and parties.
I also do social media content work as well as install poles in people’s homes.
I and my students compete, perform, and do many local events!
We hope to start fundraisers in 2019 and host more of our own showcases and events.
I would say I am known for many things as I am a jack of all trades but in my home area, I am the pole dancing queen and pole mama and it is such an honor because I am proud of ALL my accomplishments and I know there will be many more.
Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
Yes, I feel there are many!
