Life and Work with Arcadio Ady Delvalle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arcadio Ady Delvalle.

Arcadio Ady, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The way it all started was I had opened up an Instagram account and I was simply posting photos of myself in outfits nothing fancy or crazy, the post seemed to catch a lot of attention because of the fit, people were loving the fit of my clothes it was something that bigger guys can’t get in stores, my secret is I tailor my own clothing to fit the way they do. One day, I got a message from an indy designer who was going to showcase the first big and tall line during NYFW and asked if I would like to walk the show. At first, I hesitated and thought it was a joke, but I said, yes, I had nothing to lose, and I never thought in a million years, I was model material at all. So, the day came I showed up met the other models and some amazing people, I walked the show which was surreal and had a positive outcome. After that show, it all changed, I think people seeing a person of size walking a show during NYFW was refreshing and something many been wanting to see happen, seeing someone they can relate to portrayed in fashion platform.

Ever since that, many opportunities have come the way I have walked in 4 fashion shows since, I’ve attended a few red carpet events, I have worked on a few projects and collaborations to bring awareness of exclusivity in the industry.

I have also been featured in over 50+ articles worldwide since January including: Teen Vogue, Yahoo!, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Glamour, New York Post, Daily Mail, HuffPost and PEOPLE Espanol and many more globally.

I plan on using my platform to inspire and show that you can do it no matter what. I want to give hope to those that aspire that they can be and do what they dream.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road and still isn’t at times. There are always hurdles especially when you are of a particular size in the industry you have to work 10 times harder than your smaller counterparts. Being a freelance model is hard work, lots of investment on your own, I hope to one day, be signed and be backed up by an agency.

My advice is you have to want this bad, you have to be willing to work and invest in your craft, network with people doing the same.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Arcadio Ady Delvalle – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a plus male model freelance, I also work a 9-5 in between for now. I’m known for just going for what comes my way and doing it confidently. I am proud that I am able to stay true to myself and help and be some sort of inspiration for others.
