Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Stevens.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Alyssa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started The A-Lyst in 2016 as a way to highlight my favorite aspects of Boston, alongside all of the other things that I adore. Over the last two years, I’ve enjoyed sharing this beautiful city as well as my travels, and style + beauty ideas with my readers and have met so many amazing people all the way. While I’ve lived in Boston for 15 years, it’s continuously evolving and my blog has allowed me to explore new places and spots that I might not otherwise know about.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Blogging is a fantastic hobby, but it is very time consuming, especially when you have a full-time job. For other women who may be interested in blogging, I would highly encourage it, as long as they are aware of the time commitment that is involved. The best advice I can give is to create a schedule for yourself that allows enough time for shooting, writing, formatting, and social media, as each of these components is equally as important and it’s imperative that you have enough time to see them through each week.
Please tell us about The A-Lyst.
The A-Lyst is a Boston-based lifestyle blog curating the very best of style, beauty, food, and travel. As I mentioned, I’ve lived in Boston for almost 15 years and am still discovering new and exciting shops, restaurants, and hidden spots. I wanted to find a way to bring together my love for this city with my appreciation for travel, style, and beauty, so after years of “thinking” about starting a blog, I finally decided to create The A-Lyst.
My day job is as a publicist and I represent a number of amazing brands, restaurants, and consumer products, so delving into the world of blogging was a very natural addition to my everyday life. My favorite part of blogging has been meeting and connecting with new people, especially those who are new to Boston or are planning a visit here. I love providing recommendations on how to best enjoy this beautiful city!
Who have you been inspired by?
Personally, my mother, who is the hardest worker and most sincere woman. Professionally, I am attracted to strong women who aren’t afraid to take risks in order to get rewards. This is something that I want to become better at, so whenever I cross paths with a total #girlboss, I am immediately inspired.
