Conversations with the Inspiring Traci Ready

Today we’d like to introduce you to Traci Ready.

Traci, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have found my calling in a variety or realms but they all seem to connect perfectly. At least for me, they do!

After graduating college with a degree in Travel & Hospitality Management, I found my niche in Administration. My travels have led me into Human Resources, where I achieved a PHR certificate, which demonstrates relevance, competence, experience, credibility and dedication to Human Resources. During the day I work as an Office Manager for S.J. Overstreet Construction Co., Inc., a local high end construction company (featured in Boston Home several times). I am also a licensed MA Real Estate Salesperson and a former Appraiser in Training. Having always considered myself emotionally intelligent, I am Reiki Level I & II attuned and believe strongly in the healing powers associated with energy and nature.

From early on, I’ve always wanted to belong to a community where I could interact with others who had similar interests to mine. For me it’s the foundation for what Alice’s Table was established on (growth, women empowerment, flexibility and creativity). Starting up my own Alice’s Table business was a perfect fit for me to support local south shore businesses, lead and engage our guests on being social, creative beings. Playing with flowers is a great bonus too!!!

Another rewarding benefit of investing in myself as a woman “mom” boss, is it allows me the opportunity to teach my daughter who struggles with dyslexia, ADHD and communication disabilities that even with disabilities; she can be successful with a creative job. Working with flowers is very therapeutic and she loves every opportunity to travel to our wholesaler Berkeley Florist Supply.

Has it been a smooth road?
At first, I was a little hesitant about taking on another position and starting my own event business. But for a busy mom of 2, this opportunity offered me flexibility and control. Something that a mother really requires. The Alice’s Table platform is a strong community, wanting to empower women to build their business with smart tips, suggestions while offering back office support. My events business allows me an opportunity to teach my children the fundamentals of preparing for events through teamwork. So many aspects go into this process such as counting, washing, sorting, organizing and more.

Ladies, my advice to you, working is one of those life essentials, why not doing something that you love while earning a living. Being able to incorporate your home tribe is an extra benefit. For me, it’s actually priceless.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Alice’s Table – South of Boston story. Tell us more about the business.
As seen on Shark Tank, Alice’s Table is a community that provides women, like me, with the tools and knowledge needed to launch their own flexible flower arranging and event businesses. Through the AT exec program, women build venue partnerships, host their own events, and grow their clientele. I am the go-to gal for planning, birthday parties, DIY weddings, girl’s night out, and more!

Michelle Reid, Director of Sales & Catering for Granite Links in Quincy states, Granite Links Golf Club’s partnership with Alice’s Table has been beyond beneficial. Working with Alice’s Table has been a wonderful marketing and business opportunity for the club. By hosting Alice’s Table events we have been able to introduce new customers to Granite Links, and the social media cross-promotion has been great for our online visibility. Traci Ready for Alice’s Table is so incredibly easy to work with, and the events are always a success! I have nothing but praise for Alice’s Table South of Boston!

It would be great to hear about any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve used and would recommend to others.
I am a big fan of DIY and HGTV. Not only do I watch the network shows but I also subscribe to their social accounts and magazines. Both my daughter and I hold discussions on design elements and our favorite television activity is to make guesses on Love it or List It and House Hunters. She can never figure out how I get most of them right. Then I have to remind her that I have a background in both Real Estate and construction.

My go-to blog is actually the Alice’s Table blog https://alicestable.com/blog. There, you can find Alice’s tips and tricks for a simply joyous life. Whether you are looking for wedding, entertaining or career hacks, this is a great go-to source.
