Conversations with the Inspiring Emily Roscoe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Roscoe.

Emily, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my business as an extension of the work I had been doing at a digital agency in LA, where I produced organic content for lifestyle brands on social media. After working in Hollywood and spending most of my life documenting candid moments in life, I woke up one morning and decided to uproot my life in the mission to align my lifestyle with the things I find most valuable in life. Community, connection to nature, creating art, living simply. And last week I actually bought a mini handicapped school bus that I’ll be converting into my home and mobile photo studio over the next 6 months. I honestly never thought that this road would lead me here, but at the same time I’ve never felt more like myself.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has NOT been a smooth road. I saw this graph somewhere on Instagram that showed the optimistic start, the successful end, and the “messy middle”. And I so relate to that. I think we all experience a messy middle and maybe we’ll always experience that in every chapter of life. But I enjoy learning and overcoming challenges I never thought I could. I love proving my limits wrong.

What should we know about SHAREtheSOUL? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I consider myself a storyteller. And when I think about how I can best give value to my community, I’ve found that empowering women with tools and visuals to express their most authentic self and brand — it’s an honor to offer women a reflection of their most vibrant self. It’s really important to me to take the time to understand the heart of the business, the “why”, before we break that apart and piece together a digital story through visuals and authentic voice. I’m so in love with the entire process of it.

Do you have any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general? What has worked well for you?
I find that my mentors are the friends I share space with. It’s such a competitive industry, but I think when we really *show up* for each other, that’s where the magic happens. Lately I’ve met so many like minded creative people who are willing to show up at all hours of the day and night just to try new things and create art together. And that has taught me so much more than I can put into words.
