Check out Meaghan Korbas’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meaghan Korbas.

Meaghan, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
After graduating college I used some extra cash to buy a Canon T4i DSLR and started taking photos for fun. I mostly took my camera with me when I traveled and found myself taking photographs of random people on the street, which ended up being some of the most interesting photos I had ever taken. After returning back home I started taking walks around my neighborhood looking for the same inspiration I found during my travels. From there I started taking photos at clubs, music shows, and local fashion. As I started taking my photography more seriously I started planning my own shoots which brought out a creative side in me that I honestly never knew I had.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
In looking at my work I see that my subconscious gravitates towards taking photos of people in their natural habitat doing what they love or just doing what they do every day. I hope people take away the beauty in that; the beauty in commonality between people carrying out their purpose. There is a natural confidence in someone in their element that is both inspiring and relatable.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
I’ve found that success is actively pursuing your passion and having pride in your final product. If you can present your artwork and feel joy, pleasure or confidence, then you have succeeded. Never stop the hustle because if you have the self-belief and self-determination to go out there and give it your all then you will find yourself in the opportunities you seek. Trust the process.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
