Today we’d like to introduce you to Daly Sanford.
Daly, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as a creative professional.
I grew up always having an interest in events. I loved the idea of people getting together and celebrating. I originally went to school for interior design. While working for a local catering company summers during college, my love for events grew even more. My favorite part is being able to assist the wedding couple during their wedding. After working for a catering company for a few years, I figured let me try this on my own. I decided to start my own business as an event planner. One thing I love to do is stay at the event until the end. It’s great to see the entire event unfold from start to end.
We’d love to hear more about your work. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Being an event planner, it allows me to work with a blank slate on every event. Every event is different! I love getting to know the client and seeing what’s special to them. How can we make their event, not like any others. Seeing the actual event unfold is a piece of art!
Have things improved for creatives? What should cities do to empower creative professionals?
Using local vendors is always special. It’s great to support one another. The event industry is competitive. There are many different options to pick from. Using locally grown flowers to locally raised food really helps out the community.
