Today we’d like to introduce you to Porter Square and Harvard Square’s Mix-it Sushi Noodle Grill ( Japanese and Asian cuisine).

Every restaurant has its own history, backstory, etc. We’d love to hear yours.
My name is Nuanchan Jitjaruek, the major owner of Mix-it. I was born in Chinese family and grew up in Bangkok Thailand. As I grew up, I have tasted many Thai food, Chinese, and Japanese food. My mom loves to eat so she took me to different kind of restaurants such as Thai, Chinese, and Japanese restaurants and etc,.
So I would say that my mom really influenced me in tasting all good food in each cuisine.

I have moved to live in Newton , MA in year 2000 due to divorcement. So I wanted to open my own restaurant in year 2000. The first restaurant named Spice Thai Cuisine, locates in Harvard Square in Cambridge which is still open till today. I paired up with Thai friend who has experiences with Thai food for almost 10 years. Then we opened the second Thai restaurant named Ninetastes Thai Cuisine,which is still open and it locates in Harvard Square in Cambridge as well.

Year 2014, My and partners and I decided to open the third restaurant named Mix-it. The reason I named this restaurant Mix-it is because I want every members of family can have food all in one place. I have been in restaurant business for almost 17 years. I always have passion to offer medley rays of food to my customers and make sure they will get the good quality of food and service as well. I have selected the interesting and savory dishes that prepared by the talented chefs who have experiences more than 10 years.

The menu is including sushi, Japanese, Thai, Chinese and all kind of noodles. I hope customers will enjoy the dishes from Mix-it!

Tell us about the challenges of running a food service / restaurant business.
No it is not easy to get into this point. I have to learn to adapt and know what customers want from us. I had improved my menu and interior of restaurants from time to time.

What separates Mix-it Sushi Noodle Grill ( Japanese and Asian cuisine) from the other similar spots?
Mix-it is an unique place that you can eat Thai, Chinese, Sushi, all kind of noodles and Japanese Cuisines all in here.

Taiwanese Noodle Soup is one of our noodle Asian bowl that is popular among the Chinese people and American customers who want to try traditional Chinese Taiwan dish.

Also Kimchi Noodle soup is a very unique noodle bowl that you will not find anywhere else except Mix-it. We created our own recipe.

At present we are offering the Blossom Roll, Fruity Roll, and Sushi Burger for spring special and also Boneless Roasted Duck .
