Today we’d like to introduce you to T.M Nicholas.
T.M, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Grew up in rock port mass. son of Tom Nicholas, Na, was. studied with John terelak in high school, monserrat art school for 2 years. studied watercolor with my father and several California artists including Millard Sheets, Jade Fon, and morris Shubin. taught plein air painting in Hawaii, California, Italy Portugal most New England states. Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I paint mostly plein air, but I finish things in the studio. I try to see possibilities in nature, combining what I see with my thoughts. this is most apparent in composition. I enjoy painting outdoors in all seasons.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Artists have the most in common with other artists, you can go on painting trips together, join an art association, or use Facebook to connect with others.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
I show in many galleries, including the Tom Nicholas gallery in rock port MA. the Guild of Boston Artists on Newbury St. Boston the Rockport Art Association in Rockport. Visions of Vermont in Jeffersonville VT gallery on the green in Woodstock Vt, Argosy gallery in Bar Harbor Maine, among others.
