Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole DeRosa Cannella.
Nicole, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I am a five times published children’s author/editor who has been featured in The NY Times alongside my muse, a little boy who passed away from a rare form of cancer. The threads that bind my books, my photos and my overall life view are those of gratitude and empathy; it’s evident in my work creatively and as a mom.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
My goals are for people to see the faith I have through showcasing commonalities in humanity and a love of the so-called “little things.”
In your view, what is the biggest issue artists have to deal with?
Noise.
Everyone clamoring for 15 proverbial minutes by making mere noise;
Angry noise
Inflammatory noise
Mindless noise…
So much better to make art that highlights love, empathy, and community.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
My books are all available via Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Lampion Press – they can see my work at little.girl.arise on Instagram and even buy a book to support pediatric cancer fighters and cancer awareness.
