Today we’d like to introduce you to Desiree Cardona.
Desiree, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
From a young age, I’ve always been very creative and loved many things in the art field such as dance, music, and designing. I love photography and painting about a year and a half ago, I started my own tattoo inspired clothing line, my brand isn’t just for a tattoo artist, it’s literally for anyone, my brand name is ∆ЯT which stands for always remain true. My brand is literally a piece of my life, most of my designs come from a place in my life or something I like. I have been blessed to have my brand selling in three different shops in Rhode Island, I’ve shipped my brand to many different states and some countries already.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I own my own clothing line and I am an artist. I also do photography, I do mostly all my shoots for my clothing line, a lot of my artwork is inspired from a time in my life. I express through my artwork, I’ve had a lot of people reached out to me telling me how I inspired them, whether it’s because of one of my paintings that they can relate to. I’ve had many people tell me they love how passionate I am when it comes to expressing myself. I want people to take from my clothing line and artwork, it’s exactly what my brand stands for. I want them to just always remain true, it can be scary putting yourself out there but you’ll never know how many people you touch or just how much you even learn about yourself.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
I think you don’t have to be an artist to feel lonely, I think we all go through times in our life where we feel alone or need to be alone to figure out things or just ourselves, but a good way to connect with artists is to network, networking is a great way to meet artists and learn new things and give your art great exposure.
