Today we’d like to introduce you to Weronika Wiktor.
Weronika, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Since I was a child I always loved animals, especially dogs. I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, but instead I went to law school. When I moved from Poland to the USA in 2005 I knew I wanted to work with animals in my future. In June 2011 I went to PetSmart Grooming Academy, became a groomer at the end of August 2011. I continued working for the company until November 2012. The following January I decided that I wanted to open a mobile pet grooming business to provide high quality, less stressful grooming at the pet’s home. I purchased my first grooming van and started Happy Puppy Grooming on May 3rd, 2013.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Mobile Pet Grooming wasn’t easy in the beginning. Not everyone was familiar with the service that I provide, but I was able to gain customers very quickly by word of mouth. I started with almost zero customers and in few months’ time I went to being booked for months ahead of time. The biggest challenge I had was the weather – especially winter – but I was able to find a way to work regardless of the weather conditions.

Happy Puppy Grooming offer grooming service at pet home .my grooming trailer has everything I need to make the pooch beautiful -water, a/c, heat, power. I groom all size dogs and cats, special need animals as well. Happy Puppy Grooming has been rated as a top 20 best pet groomers in Boston area as of 2016&2017 (by expertise).
I belong to National Pet Groomer of America and New England Pet Grooming Professionals. My service is very personal with each pet and client. I have been servicing over 300 pets all around south shore area and each pet and customer are becoming a part of my family.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Since I remember I always loved animals .I was 7 years old when I got my very first dog, named Fufu. He quickly became my very best friend. Every day after school I was rushing home to spend time with him, go for walk, play with him, etc. Having Fufu I realized how much I love animals, especially dogs.
I had many others pets while growing up but he was the best of the best. I started learning more and more about dogs, learning breeds, training techniques, feeding routines, and tick removal and deterrence. My dog Fufu lived to be 14 years old. He died on 10/28/2005, just 3 months after I moved to USA and it was very difficult time for me.
