Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven D. Cohen, DMD.
Dr. Cohen, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
This practice has been in continuous existence for about 70 years. During that time, it has been owned by three different dentists. I have been in practice for 40+ years and for 13 years at this location. Previous to that I practiced in Lincoln, MA
I believe in and practice that every patient has the right to be comfortable during a dental visit. He believes in and practices excellence. Many of my patients have crowns that were placed 30-35 yrs. ago and are still as good as the day they were cemented
We treat each patient as if they were our only patient. Our only concern is for the patient’s wellbeing, comfort and health. We try to spend time to meet and get to know every patient so we can better understand our patient’s needs and wants. We appoint extra time to explain their treatment, referrals, and options to every patient.
I think that the quality of our dentistry is appreciated by our many patients; many patients have twenty to 35-year-old crowns that are as good today as the day they were cemented.
My Dad was a dentist. I grew up in a family learning how to be act like a dentist and how to relate to patients. I always wanted to go to dental school and I was very proud to be accepted to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, in fact I knew about my acceptance long before my other college classmates. I guess that you could say that my passion for dentistry is in my blood!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As I remember, paying for dental school was a challenge and the USAF was helpful in providing funds through paychecks that helped to finance the tuition. Other than that I don’t feel that there have been many obstacles or challenges

We are a full service dental practice, referring out only those procedures that are difficult and better treated by a specialist. We provide Restorative, Endodontic, Periodontics 0rthodontic, Implant, Dental Sleep Medicine (treating Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea) and Oral Surgical Services.
We are known for having the ability to treat phobics well and to help them loose their phobia as well as being able to perform almost painless injections.
Two of my pet interest are treating patients that fear dentistry and preventing and treating fractured teeth
What were you like growing up?
As a kid, I was like most boys my age. I was interested in worms and snails and puppy dog tails. Out of that grew a huge interest in biology. I enjoyed about anything outdoors, fishing, camping, hiking, baseball and football.
