Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheri Bready.
Sheri, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always enjoyed taking photographs. So I decided to go to School for it. I signed up for Boston University CDIA’s program. During the program I decided that out of everything I could photograph animals were my favorite. So I decided to combine my passion for animals and passion for photography and become a pet photographer.
Has it been a smooth road?
Going to school at night and working full time was a bit of a challenge. But it was all worth it.

As a photographer specializing in pets I try to capture the animal’s personality. I love letting the animal just be themselves and get natural shots as well as the posed portraits. Getting action shots is also a lot of fun. I enjoy interacting and playing with the pet. Depending on the animal, I will try to get shots of them playing with their favorite toy or during specialized shoots I will get underwater shots.
I also volunteer at Worcester Animal Rescue League and take photos of the shelter animals for the web site. A good photo of an animal can go a long way in getting the pet adopted. I have also published a book for the shelter. Creating and publishing How Dogs Make Cloud Pictures was a proud moment for me. The book is of shelter dogs doing unique things in interesting situations. Part of the proceeds go directly to the shelter. It can be purchased on my website www.sheribreadypetphotography.com
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Worcester/ Central MA is a great location for my business. There is a lot of support and inspiration for art in the Worcester community.
