Meet Romeyn “Ro” Murphy of Ro Murphy Photography in Merrimack Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Romeyn “Ro” Murphy.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Romeyn “Ro”. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I developed a love of both nature and photography early on. My grandfather and my father were both nature enthusiast who loved walks and hiking and they always had their cameras, so I guess these are traditions in my family. I experimented with photography here and there throughout my childhood years growing up in Southern New Hampshire. But it wasn’t until the past few years that I began to really delve into digital photography and nature more seriously. I would love to spend every moment of my life photographing the splendors of nature across North America and beyond.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a challenge keeping up with the developments of digital photography and the many software components that accompany it. I love the challenge. Learning and improving on a constant basis drives me.

Please tell us about Ro Murphy Photography.
I specialize in nature prints and have recently expanded to include photo sessions of families & pets in their favorite outdoor places throughout the Merrimack Valley & greater Boston area. I’ve found that people really enjoy having portraits with beautiful natural backgrounds.

I would have to say the thing that sets me apart is my ability to inspire people to get outside by creating images that captivate and motivate today’s technology driven minds. There is a whole world of nature out there that many of us have put aside for too long, myself included at times, and it’s time we all get back out there and explore!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
A favorite memory from my childhood was climbing my first mountain, Mount Monadnock, with my dad. He told me how he and his father climbed that mountain when he was young. And now I have climbed the very same mountain with my own son Alex.
