Meet Natasha Gayl of Natasha Wellness in Cambridge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Gayl.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ever since I can remember I’ve been on a health journey to heal myself. As a teenager, I was gaining weight, dealing with anxiety and depression, binge drinking followed by binge eating, and lacked self-confidence. My hormones were out of whack and of course my doctor’s solution was to take drugs. After realizing my pharmaceuticals were causing more harm than good I tossed them out the window and began trying every alternative medicine path under the sun; Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, gross herbs (bat poop was legit one of them), fad diets, cleanses, the list goes on.

A couple years ago, I landed on something that actually worked: yoga and Ayurveda. I was hungry for more so I quickly went for my yoga and health coaching certification. My health history is not unique – others are dealing with the same aftermath as me. I healed myself and I want to show others that by following an ancient 5,000+-year-old science, they can heal themselves too. I help my clients learn how to listen to their body and follow their intuition.

My clients learn how to live in sync with the earth’s natural rhythms, follow their own body’s unique constitution and understand what food and movement works best for THEIR body. Each person holds their own power and I honor that. What I teach is not a diet, but the power of self-healing with food, exercise, self-care, and habit change. It’s all about kaizen. Newsflash: diets never work, habit change and body wisdom do.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting my own business was scary (how many times have you heard that?) but SO rewarding (and that?). I was at a dead-end job, counting down the days until I was laid off so I could officially launch Natasha Wellness. That fateful day came on my 2 year anniversary with the company and it was off to the races. I’m a big believer in that things happen for a reason. This was the universe’s way of pushing me to do something that’s been on my mind for a decade.

I’m 8 months into this adventure and my offers are increasing every day. As a small business, the most important thing I can offer my clients is as much support as possible – and free things! I have a recurring free Ayurveda + Essential Oils workshop happening right now. Both trending topics and super fun to teach.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Natasha Wellness – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I have always been interested in the effects that food, herbs, and exercise have on the human body. Through my studies of Ayurveda and Ancient Chinese Herbal Medicine, I’ve honed my interest in Ayurvedic habit change science, food, and exercise into expertise that can help my clients live in line with their inherent wellness.

Since eliminating certain inflammatory foods years ago, I was on a mission to find new foods to enjoy and exciting ways to incorporate them. This kicked off my creative cooking obsession. My kitchen is mostly plant-based, with the occasional incorporation of other proteins to satisfy the unique needs of different bodies and constitutions. I believe in eating fresh, organic, local, and in-season foods for gut-health, energy, and vitality.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Increasing my offerings! Everybody works differently and I’m starting to realize that I can offer a myriad of services that suit each client’s needs. My next exciting launch is my 10-week virtual Whole Body Balance course where I lead dynamic groups of people towards better health. I teach my clients how to filter out the noise and focus on what really matters in achieving their goals. I am thrilled to continue to meet more people and help my community learn how to honor their inherent wellness.

You’ll be seeing a lot more of me as I build my team and expand my network. If there is something that you’d like to see from Natasha Wellness please don’t hesitate to email me!
