Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Lemke.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am the CEO and Founder of Solutions For, Inc. I spent the bulk of my career at H&R Block, where I worked as a business analyst consultant, helping self-employed individuals, small businesses and closely held corporations reach their goals. In 2014, I started Solutions For, Inc. with the intention to use my skills to help startups and small businesses succeed by providing them with the analytical insights and high level planning of a chief financial officer. Since then, my team has grown in size and we are now providing marketing and operational support to our clients.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest regret is trying to do this all on my own when I first started. I found myself overwhelmed by the amount of work I had to with clients. Once I onboarded my team, I was able to increase my bandwidth and focus more of my attention on business development and doing more of the high level budgeting and planning that’s a huge part of our original business plan.
Please tell us about Solutions For.
We are virtual officers for startups and small businesses, serving as vCFOs, vCMOs, and vCTOs. Many startups do not have the resources to bring a high ranking officer full-time, so we provide them with an alternative solution that fits their budget and brings them results. We are known for our compassion and willingness to go the extra mile to make our clients understand their problems and find solutions. So far, I am most proud of my company’s core: we are an excellent group of business specialists, with sterling characters to boot!
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memories have to deal with my being a scout leader in Spanish Peaks Scout Ranch in the Rocky Mountains mountain range from the age of 14 to the age of 20. It’s where I learned my leadership skills and a desire to work with young people. Scouting was very important to me without the opportunity that the camp provided me I would’ve never finished my Eagle Scout. I had a sense of freedom and a sense of responsibility that helped pull me out of an area of the United States that didn’t see many people go to college.
I spent every summer right after school let out in late May until early September for most of my middle childhood and young adult hood
