Liat, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I first started drinking mushroom teas when I learned about all their amazing health benefits and longtime use in traditional medicine for strengthening the immune system. However, when drunk alone, I found that the taste of some of these functional mushrooms was not as satisfying as some of the other herbal teas I enjoy drinking. That was the big “Aha!” moment: Why don’t I handcraft herbal teas that not only augment the beneficial properties of these amazing mushrooms but also make delicious caffeine-free teas that can be enjoyed everyday? Ever since then, it has become my passion and life mission to introduce Tamim Teas to both health enthusiasts and tea lovers alike.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have a firm commitment to sourcing all our mushrooms from organic family farmers. This ensures the best in terms of flavor and functionality. I have to admit, this is WAY more challenging than simply ordering mushroom powders or extracts (from often unknown sources) over the internet. It takes a lot of time and leg work to actually go out into the field and meet dedicated farmers. But, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I want the best for myself and my community.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
While I can’t pinpoint one particular favorite memory, I can say that each great childhood memory is somehow related to the golden hour – the time shortly before sunset during which everything seems beautifully golden and softer. I was a big fan of playing outside (still am!) and I remember savoring these moments just before it became too dark to play outside and I needed to head home.
