Meet Anastasia Tsoumbanos and Natalia Kapourelakos of Lakeview Pavilion

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anastasia Tsoumbanos and Natalia Kapourelakos.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In search of the “American Dream,” our family emigrated from Greece in 1981. Eight years later, we discovered Lakeview Ballroom, a secluded yet conveniently located historical, lakefront property surrounded by tranquil woodlands. It was love at first sight!

Excited by the potential of the property, we were hopeful that our vision and determination would enable us to transform the modest dancehall into an impressive and successful wedding and event venue. Within the first few years, our knowledge of the industry flourished, and we continued to make improvements to the property.

As a result, Lakeview Pavilion was producing events that impressed. Word began to spread, business boomed, and it became evident that we had found our lives’ passion! Twenty-nine years later, our passion for weddings and events continues to grow.

As a premier event venue centrally located between Boston and Providence, Lakeview Pavilion sets the standard for the wedding & event industry in our local market, yet we continually strive to better ourselves. Our clients entrust us with hosting the most important celebrations of their lives – and our clients deserve the best!

Can you tell us about one of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Perhaps the most notable challenge we faced was the loss of the original building back on April 5, 2014. On that day, during an indoor wedding ceremony, Lakeview Pavilion was the site of an accidental, fast-moving fire. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the three-alarm blaze.

Unfortunately, the quick and brave response of firefighters and first responders was not enough to save the building. Although we were heartbroken by the loss, we immediately focused our energy on the rebuild.

As a result, the silver lining of the fire tragedy was unveiled in September 2015 when we opened the doors to the stunning new Lakeview Pavilion; a venue that so elegantly combines the best qualities of the original with some of the features we had previously dreamed of adding.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Lakeview Pavilion story. Tell us more about the business.
A strikingly modern venue beautifully nestled in a natural New England setting – Lakeview Pavilion is truly in a class of its own. Designed to be a canvas on which individual styles could shine, Lakeview Pavilion’s event space impresses un-enhanced and also compliments any theme imaginable.

Sheer flowy curtains, floor to ceiling windows, shimmering chandeliers and gorgeous dark floors provide an elegant backdrop for any and all décor while our picturesque outdoor spaces provide additional options for cocktail hours, ceremonies and photos.

As proud as we are of the new building, there’s much more to Lakeview Pavilion than an impressive new facility in a picture perfect location. Specifically, we’re talking about the Lakeview Pavilion team, comprised of highly experienced staff known throughout the industry for their attention to detail, exquisite & creative cuisine, exceptional service and ability to consistently exceed even the wildest of expectations.

We pride ourselves on providing support and guidance throughout the planning process and flawlessly executing each event while taking as much pressure/stress off of our clients as possible. Our couples comment that we were consistently one step ahead, anticipating their needs before they, themselves were aware a need existed and that’s because they trusted that the Lakeview Team was in control, they were able to enjoy every second of their special day!

They are also so touched that their guests are still raving about the delicious food, beautiful venue, professional staff and the fact that the wedding (their wedding!) was the best their guests have ever attended! Lakeview Pavilion – a pristine new venue operated by the best in the business. We have the very best of both worlds; THAT’S what sets us apart from the competition!

Who also deserves credit?
Over the years, we have been very blessed by the love and support of so many and are humbled when we realize it would be almost impossible to acknowledge them all. The following are just a few of the many. Lakeview Pavilion is located in the Town of Foxborough, MA and throughout the years, the town’s officials, first responders and citizens have been so welcoming, helpful and supportive that we are honored to call Foxborough home (Go Pats!) As we’ve mentioned, weddings & events are our passion and having been in this industry for over 30 years, we’ve had the pleasure of working with some AMAZING vendors. Creating events that impress requires collaboration and Lakeview has been so fortunate to work with some of the most skilled vendors in the industry. The relationships we have developed and nurtured over the years have most definitely contributed to our success. The mutual respect and support shared with these vendors is both a reason we love what we do as well as a reason we can do what we do so successfully. Finally, we need to thank our families – and we mean “families” in the most plural sense. Firstly, none of this would have been possible were it not for our parents, Efstathios & Kyparisia Kourtidis, who sacrificed and worked so hard to provide their children with opportunities and who instilled, in their three children, a determined entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic. Secondly, we are forever thankful for the unconditional support of our husbands, Tom, and Evan, and our children, Christina & Melina, Marianna & Demetrios who have been our rocks and our inspiration over the years. They understand that Lakeview is very much a part of who we are that it is never far from our minds – even when we are not physically at work. The understanding, love, and support from them and from our extended families have been a huge factor in our success. We are so blessed! What we have previously referred to as the Lakeview Pavilion team is the third and final family we must thank. We have employees that have been with Lakeview Pavilion for over 20 years; some almost 30! In addition, it is extremely common to have several relatives from one family employed by Lakeview; parents & children, siblings, cousins, married couples – families love to work at Lakeview! The combination of experienced staff, fresh new faces, and a family orientated environment have, over the years, proved itself to be an asset. Lakeview has the most dedicated, professional, talented team in the industry and we are fortunate to have them and to call them family. Started by family, owned and operated by two sisters, employing families – Lakeview Pavilion is proud to be a “Family” Business.
