Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Rivoli.
Kristen, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always been a creative type and have sketched and drawn pictures for as long as I can remember. I went to school for Interior Design right out of high school and started working in commercial/corporate design after graduation and worked there for 15 years. I switched over to residential and have been doing high-end luxury residences ever since. After working on my own, then joining a small firm, I left to open my own firm in 2009 amidst the economic downturn and have steadily increased business consistently every year.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I’ve weathered many economic downturns throughout my career and our industry is reliant on a good economy where people feel comfortable spending money on their homes. In the high-end market, they’re less affected but still very mindful of how they spend their money. I’ve been able to work with my clients through those times, knowing it won’t last forever, and giving them a project that’s mindful of their budget with a high-end luxury feel to it.
Please tell us about Kristen Rivoli Interior Design.
My company focuses on the high end, luxury residential market. With 30 years experience in both commercial and residential work, i have a good handle on the best trade resources to bring to the project that will add value and be of the highest quality for my clients. We know how to work with our clients budget in a collaborative way, by keeping them engaged in the selections & decision-making process. This is their project, their home, and we’re here as a team member to help them achieve their end goals.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I’m not sure I would do anything different, there are so many forks in the road throughout our careers and the decisions I made were what I felt was best at the time. I’m always looking forward in regards to what’s next, there’s no looking back!
