John, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started in the hair industry over 30+ years on Newbury Street in Boston. I owned Spa Visage in Norwell and in 2010 my partner and I opened up Rebel Hair Studio in Norwell, MA. Our salon is a renter salon and we have over 21 elite, professional hair stylists! We offer retail products, clothing, jewelry, massage therapy, Permanent Markup and Tattoo Removal Services. We have expanded our salon and implemented Rebel Boutique within the business at our Norwell location. I specialize in Wigs and Non-surgical hair restoration systems for both Men and Women. It is 100% Human Hair in which I offer a free consultation. I create a template and take a sample of my client’s hair and send it out to the company that we have partnered up with. They, in turn, create a beautiful system that integrates with their own hair – It is Amazing and I love helping people look and feel great about themselves! I also provide great services for hair and color!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being in business for yourself is always tough, challenging but rewarding! It is hard work and you have to always be on your game. You have to be able to offer different products and services and find the right people and personalities that will work well together. The challenge is keeping your clients happy and satisfied as well as always growing your business. You want your clients to walk out of your business/place knowing that they had a great experience and look forward to coming back. You want them to feel like an extension of your family!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Rebel Hair Studio story. Tell us more about the business.
The main company is Rebel, LLC and with DBA as Rebel Hair Studio and Rebel Boutique. We specialize in wigs, non-surgical hair restoration systems, clothing/boutique items, permanent makeup, tattoo removal, hair services and products and massage therapy. We are most proud of the brand that we have created, developed and nurtured over the years. But, what we are most proud of is our dedication to our clients, our reputation and how far we have come in 7 short years! The wigs, hair restoration systems, permanent makeup and tattoo removal services keep us apart from out competition.
