Meet Jillian Lynch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jillian Lynch.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
After graduating from Waltham High, I went right to cosmetology school. Within my first year as a licensed professional, I became an educator and platform artist with Rusk. I traveled all over the country, educating hair stylists on the newest trends on everything that a stylist could offer. I have done hair on the runways of New York Fashion Week, and editorials fashion shoots.

From 2014 on, I had 3 babies in 3.5 years and significantly cut back my time in the salon and traveling. Needing a creative outlet, I picked up my camera to document our days. I started to take photos for friends, then friends of friends, and the ball kept on rolling.

I am so fortunate to be a part of other people’s happiness. I get to do hair a bride on her wedding day, and photos of a newborn baby. I’m very lucky and honored when someone asks me to be a part of their life and help make memories.

Please tell us about your art.
For photography, I want to capture raw emotions and feelings. I love genuine laughs and real moments. Photos that really tell a story is what I aim for.

Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
Every artist creates art in their own way. No advice needed 🙂

It’s all in what you feel and just go with it. There is no right or wrong.

Every day I learn something. I’m always pulling my camera out to figure out lighting and so many other things. There’s nothing I regret or wished for. I’m grateful for all of the practice I’ve had in these short 5 years.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
