Today we’d like to introduce you to Jan Poulain and Liz Larson.
Perfectly Placed For You began 10 years ago. Jan had a love for decorating and design and she wanted to assist people in creating inviting and affordable spaces through redesign. Shortly after taking a certification class in both staging and redesign, friends asked her to help stage their home for sale. The result was a faster than average sale for over asking in a difficult market. Things took off and home staging became the focus. It wasn’t long before Jan realized that she needed help and Liz was her natural choice. There was a concern about mixing business and friendship, but that was soon put to rest as they both have such a passion for what they do, and they realized there is absolutely nothing better than doing it together.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
When we began back in 2007, we were introduced to clients by forward thinking realtors. Very few clients in our region had ever worked with a stager to prepare their home for market, so there was a rather steep learning curve to overcome. Fast forward with the enormous popularity of HGTV and other design programming on TV, the public has now become very aware of the need for our services and often they are very excited for an initial consultation. We absolutely love that!
Please tell us about Perfectly Placed For You.
Perfectly Placed for You, LLC is a full-service staging and redesign company. We help sellers, realtors, builders and investors showcase properties for maximum profit. We specialize in vacant staging, and we carry everything from full scale furniture to art, accents and more. With our own inventory, we are able to offer a complete staging package in a timely manner at a highly competitive rate. We take great pride in the fact that we have created a trusted brand.
Many of our clients are referrals and they know that they can count on us to get the job done the right way exactly as promised.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
It’s hard to say if we would have done anything differently because our business grew organically out of a love for what we do. Running the business portion of Perfectly Placed For You is a continuous learning journey for us. Every day brings new challenges that push us to grow, and although we may have preferred to avoid these growing pains at times, we both accept that they were necessary. Keeping everyone happy; our clients, vendors and our families is quite a balancing act, and our lesson learned is to keep doing more of the same and enjoy each step along the way.
