Today we’d like to introduce you to Igor Vasiljuk.
Igor, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My story started ’86 in Belgrade, Serbia. Continued in London UK few years later working for Tony&Guy at one of their First salon, in Kensington. Working all those years London Fashion scene lead to engagement with countless Photo shoots for fashion magazines and Fashion Weeks across Europe.
In 2006 my wife and I decided to move to US for little while and see the country. I was brought in to James Joseph Salon as a Director. After three years we decided to stay and opened First Fulham salon. At that time I was approached by Wella Hair Color Co. My friend and mentor Fabio Sementilly who vas VP at that time invited me to the Top Artist Team for USA.
This was my break thru in this country! In 2014 I opened second Fulham Salon in Wellesley MA, which is also Very successful. Our third location will be opening hopefully Sept 1 ’17 in a hip Brighton Center.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It is never a smooth road, but, in my opinion there are only Solutions to problems, and not the problems. They are life exercises. In general I am Very positive person and I never complain for the amount of work! I am one of the fortunate, I love my work!!!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Fulham Salon story. Tell us more about the business.
We are Hairdresser’s that are Hair Geeks! I pass on my passion to all my employees, so they can have as much fun working as me. We are known for being Very fashion forward and professional. That comes thru my involvement with Wella Color Co. My Team and I are constantly involved in fashion scene and latest trends. I teach 20-25 seminars per year across country to Hairstylist that are hungry for knowledge.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I am huge believer in karma! Doing good and being passionate, hardworking, always pay’s back.
