Meet Fatima Noorani of Threading & Heena in Taunton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fatima Noorani.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started doing Threading & Henna art since I was a very little girl. I would stand on a table and thread my friends and family members. I was always interested in everything artistic. Fortunate enough when I grew older enrolled in one of the best schools in my art. Perfected my art and haven’t stopped since. Gained experience from different parts of the world. Been in this industry for 27+ years and many more to come. My daughters are my support  and it was because of them, I had the courage to pass seven seas apart and give them a better life here a true joy and blessing they are. In case you are wondering I came from India. I started my business all alone, but the response I have gotten and support I will always be thankful for my clients who always support me and my business.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No journey is smooth and you always have to face hurdles in your path, but they definitely make you stronger and wiser. My two daughters and I always remember. No one knew what threading or henna was. As I was the first salon which introduced
Eyebrow Threading and Henna Tattoo’s in all of
South Coast Region Of Massachusetts. It was quite hard to explain to people what threading or henna was years ago. We had some unusual queries and one question we always got “how do you grow Eyebrows from threading?” LoL. Coming from India where everyone knew what threading was it was a bit hard for me at first but people here were willing to try and loved the results and kept coming back.

Threading: What is Threading?
Eyebrow threading is a practice of shaping the eyebrows using a pure cotton thread. Eyebrow threading has positive and beautiful results. Other benefits to eyebrow threading has no allergic reactions such as rashes, no chemicals are involved, it is a good technique for people with sensitive skin and the top layers of skin are not damaged when using this technique. Hair does not grow back fast. Hair does not need to be long, but just above the skin. Will not produce more hairs or make hairs stronger. Will pick up the finest hairs from the skin surface. Unlike waxing threading does not remove a layer of skin, which may cause sun damage. Threading is by far least invasive method of facial hair removal leaving the skin clean and smooth.

Henna: What is Henna?
Henna is a plant(Lawsonia inermis) a natural pigment.
The leaves are cut from the plant dried and ground into a powder. Henna is beneficial for most skin types and can act as a sunscreen. Depending on your body chemistry and skin color, the designs can appear as orange, red, brown, burgundy.
Henna designs will fade naturally.
Whether for everyday wear or special celebrations, painting henna on the skin is a painless beauty treatment.

Threading & Heena – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My business is called THREADING & HEENA located in Taunton, MA. I specialize in threading mostly brow rehab and unique henna art. One thing I would love to share which I absolutely love and see every day. When clients come in for threading and when I am done and show them the mirror. The sparkle in their eyes and their faces lights up with happiness. Seeing that appreciation and love for my work and support for my business makes me immensely happy and honored to touch some lives like that.

Eyebrows do make a difference they structure a person face if done correctly you have the power to change a person looks completely.
Henna has been a healing journey for me the people I have met through the years, it’s befitting to call henna a soul connector from henna crowns to lion henna for a wife of a 9-11 victim. I am extremely proud to have an art that brings joy into people’s lives.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Bringing Confidence, Happiness and Joy into my client’s lives. Also the first time I starting earning that’s when I realized through my art I can support my family.
