Today we’d like to introduce you to Emma Whittemore, Wedding& Event Coordinator & Designer, Allison Coy, Owner & Designer.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In the summer of 2009, Allison Coy took a leap of faith and purchased the long-time florist in New London, New Hampshire, opening Allioops! Flowers & Gifts. Originally in Colonial Plaza, the Shop has always held a fun variety of bright gifts, live plants and fresh flowers. Over the last nine years the team at Allioops! has grown, all sharing a true passion for floral design and the community. Allioops! has produced thousands of arrangements, becoming a local staple. The Shop’s signature style boasts bright pops of colors and playful textures. After a small downsize from gift shop to focus more on flowers, the ‘Oops expanded on its wedding and event work being featured in numerous publications, including The Knot, Style Me Pretty and WellWed Magazine. The busy wedding season paired with the floral holidays throughout the year, keep the Shop filled with constant deliveries, open six days a week. The Shop recently expanded their storefront in the Spring of 2017, offering workshops in plant design and fresh flower design. Moving forward the company continues to blossom earning titles like New Hampshire’s #1 Florist (2014, WMUR People’s Choice Awards.)
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Running a business isn’t all roses! It’s taken us a few years to find our perfect location, develop a signature style and master the time management of busy event weekends and holidays. We are constantly learning and working towards the best customer experience possible. Relationships are the most important part of this business. We’re in a small community where we depend on the loyalty and repeat business of our customers. Allioops! has grown from florist, to florist and gift shop, to florist, gift shop and classroom – now offering workshops in floral design and planting. That growth would not be possible without the continued support of our wonderful community.

Allioops! Flowers and Gifts is a full service florist. We design with fresh product daily, deliver to 13+ towns and have a fun retail side of our Shop that offers local artisan works, fun gift lines and tons of fresh blooms and plants. Additionally, we book a full wedding season annually, running from May to October. Since our Shop renovations in 2017, Allioops! also offers complete workshops in floral design and plant design around our custom made in-Shop farmer’s table. Our style is bold, bright and unafraid. Our designs feature fun blooms that inspire our customers. Our wedding work is renowned, booking events throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. We’ve worked hard to create a space where people feel happy, energized and simply, “don’t want to leave” – especially during the long winter months!
