Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Paul V. Hamel.
Dr. Hamel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I began my optometric career in my hometown of Revere, MA in 1994 as an associate with Pearle Vision at Northgate Shopping Center. It was a great experience for me to practice where I grew up. Four years later, I had the opportunity to purchase the practice.
Along the way, I had partnered with experienced staff and associates. This opened an opportunity for me to grow into a multi-unit owner. It was important for me to have a good staff if I were to manage multiple offices successfully.
Today, I operate the Pearle Vision in Peabody, MA as well as the original Revere location. I was fortunate to find two great doctors with excellent clinical skills to help me continue providing the best care to my patients.
I don’t have much free time, but when not working, I enjoy coaching my children’s sports teams.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Overall, it has been a great journey. Over the years, like any business, we have unfortunately had some staff turnover. However, the replacements have learned quickly and made it seem seamless.

Our Pearle Vision Franchise is your Neighborhood Eye Care Center. We are independently owned and provide the personal touch of a private practice.
We are dedicated to providing you with the latest styles of prescription sunglasses, eyeglasses, contacts and designer eyewear with the latest styles of top eyeglass brands names along with contact lenses.
Our eye doctors are trained to perform comprehensive eye exams using the latest equipment technology. We perform routine eye exams & Contact lens fits, but also specialize in Medical Eye Care (including Diabetes, Glaucoma, Dry Eyes & Cataracts).
We have contracted with most Health Insurance companies to be most accessible to the community. We try to simplify the insurance process for our patients by billing directly to insurances.
