Meet Danielle Lefebvre of Lefebvre Photography in Cumberland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Lefebvre.

Danielle, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up, I always was immersed in the arts whether it be painting, drawing or photography – so when it came time to apply to college I knew that a career in design would be the perfect fit for me creatively. In 2004, I began an intensive seven-year program at the Boston Architectural College, working in architectural firms during the day and attending classes at night. It was during those first few years, after taking a couple of intro classes and joining the local photography society, that I really began to develop a passion for photography. In my free time, I attended photography workshops, entered local competitions and practiced as often as I could. It was around 2008, during my journey through design school that I photographed my first wedding and I was instantly hooked.

In 2011, I received my Bachelor of Architecture degree, and in 2013 after the birth of my daughter, I left the architecture world to solely pursue photography. I haven’t looked back since. Since 2008, I’ve photographed over 200 weddings (not including portraits and other small events).

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Absolutely! There are always going be struggles along the way when owning a business and I’ve had many.

Every obstacle is a learning opportunity and I’m constantly re-evaluating how I can do things better or differently for my clients and for myself.

Please tell us about Lefebvre Photography.
As modern, documentary style photographers, we achieve the perfect balance between capturing real, honest moments and creating artful, yet timeless images. The emotive quality of our imagery is what makes our work unique and why most of our clients are drawn to our photography.

Our clients come to us not only because they want gorgeous, creative and quality photography – they want someone who is going to personalize their experience and photograph their wedding in a way that speaks to their personality and vision for the day. Having the honor and privilege of documenting these memories for our clients – memories that will be passed down to multiple generations is something I’m tremendously proud of as a photographer.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I probably would have put a workflow in place a lot sooner (things like automated billing, job tasks and deadlines, and software to manage all of that). Keeping your business running smoothly and keeping clients happy is mostly about streamlining your process, organization, and communication. Our current workflow has changed the way we do things from a time management standpoint – It has given me time back to pursue more projects/jobs, and valuable time with my family.
