Cyril, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started the company 8 years ago with a few colleagues that I had worked with at Havas Media and Grand Circle Travel. Our vision was to start a digital marketing agency that specialized in the Travel & Hospitality sector and provides expert marketing services including website design, development, Search engine marketing, SEO, email marketing and lead nurturing. We started with 1 client and have gradually grown over the years to the point that we are now 17 people with offices in Needham MA and Ft Lauderdale, FL. We now work with a host of clients in Travel & Hospitality, Technology, Healthcare, and Financial Services. We’ve recently won various creative awards including the 2017 MITX Awards (Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange) for Best Website in the Travel, Entertainment & Leisure category.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We’ve experienced gradual, steady growth over the years adding new clients and team members every year. Since the start of the company, we built company on a cloud based infrastructure for all of our hosting, file sharing, project management repository, timesheet tracking and other elements that enable us to collaborate with our clients’ teams. This required us to educate and train our clients on the reliability and security associated with cloud based infrastructure, something that is easier said than done with government organizations such as tourist boards and universities. We’ve also had to have our designers and developers adapt to the exponential growth in mobile traffic and the need to adhere to increasingly complex accessibility and security requirements. Our team has developed new skills and adopted new development tools to ensure that the websites and digital marketing campaigns we build for our clients and meet new requirements in today’s digital world.

At Traktek Partners, we specialize in building custom websites, lead generation, and lead nurturing campaigns that drive traffic to our clients’ sites and deliver tangible return on investment (ROI). Our co-founder and creative director, Claudio Vera, has been instrumental in designing award winning sites and user experiences and getting Traktek to where it is today. He was the one 9 years ago who recommended we set up a virtual, cloud based infrastructures and focus on delivering cost effective solutions using Drupal and other open sourced development platforms. Since our initial project of working together at Havas to build the MINI Cooper, Version, and Intelsat sites, we’ve maintained a camaraderie and friendship through a wide array of client engagements ranging from Travel & leisure, software & technology, world renowned healthcare organizations, university, and non-profit organizations.
Jennifer Phillips, our VP of service delivery joined the Traktek team 5 years ago and is the mastermind in keeping all of our client engagements and team members working together in collaborative harmony. Her dedication to surpassing our clients’ expectations and delivering web sites and digital marketing campaigns that reinforce the brand experience is hallmark that permeates throughout all of our team members and agency culture.
