Meet Chris Troxell of Cover Story Entertainment in North Shore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Troxell.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Cover Story Entertainment started out as a single band performing in the Boston area and has grown at an exponential speed over the past several years. Now the company is comprised of seven professional event bands, top of the industry DJs, internal videography and photography departments as well as an all-around service provider of up lighting, photo booths and professional dancers to accompany the entertainment. In addition to the hundreds of weddings, private parties and corporate events that we provide entertainment for we also act as a booking agency for more than fifty acts in the New England area. Our reputation of providing professional entertainment services with a personal touch can be seen in our 5-star feedback on many major advertising sites as well as on social media. Our mission is to always look for ways to improve our client experience. This has led us to our success of expanding from a band to a full-service entertainment company. We want our clients to be able to focus on the reason they are planning an event not how to plan it. In a one stop shop organization, there is less coordinating for the client which leads to a smoothly run event. We pride ourselves in hand picking the best musicians and artists to work in our company. Our employees are able to do what they love full time, which is really important to us. Talent accounts for about fifty percent of the success of Cover Story Entertainment and the other fifty percent is our attention to detail and organizational standards. There are plenty of talented musicians and artists in New England, which makes our field extremely competitive. When choosing Cover Story Entertainment you get the best of both worlds, talented musicians and peace of mind knowing that the entertainment for your event will be everything you have envisioned.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Challenges are what makes a company grow. It has not always been smooth sailing since inception, but we have learned so much from each and every struggle. In the service industry, our assets are our people. We have discovered along the way how to balance creating an enjoyable work environment as well as keeping our standards high. People are unique and must be treated as such. This goes for clients as well as employees. Client feedback is crucial to our development and is taken very seriously. We have been very fortunate to have avoided any major issues along the way, but with each hiccup, we have learned how to do the job better next time. Our team has been created over time with likeminded individuals who all work towards the same purpose. The screening and auditioning processes have helped to create a harmonious group.

Please tell us about Cover Story Entertainment.
Cover Story Entertainment is a full-service entertainment company that serves all of New England. We specialize in live music, DJs, videography, photography, photo booths, up lighting, dancers and day of coordination. We are most proud of our 5-star feedback as this is our report card and a recipe for continued success. The thing that sets us apart from others is that we provide many services under one roof, which in turn leads to a seamlessly coordinated effort. An event runs much more smoothly when there are fewer cooks in the kitchen and we are happy that we can provide our client with that type of concierge service.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
We can honestly say that we would not change a thing. As we said before when discussing struggles and challenges, it is with each one that we learn and grow. In order to build a strong foundation, you must make a few mistakes along the way. If we did it right the first time we may not be where we are today as some of our biggest struggles led to our greatest accomplishments and periods of growth.
