Meet Autumn Jones in Allston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Autumn Jones.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Autumn. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a singer-songwriter from Maplewood, New Jersey. I’ve been performing all of my life through the environment that my musical parents provided in the household. I began to learn the piano and later the cello and later joined choir. In high school I joined the Excelsior Singer’s Choir and Columbia High School Chamber Orchestra, two prestigious chamber groups that went on to win various competitive awards. With my school a capella group “Unaccompanied Minors,” who took home the 1st place trophy from the primary rounds of the Northeast ICHSA’s, I was featured on an episode of a Lifetime reality TV show in 2015 called “Pitch Slapped”. My journey in professional artistry began to flourish when I was accepted into Berklee College of Music as a Vocalist.

My first semester I performed in the Icons Tribute Show at the Berklee Performance Center and was asked to perform as lead singer in the band Backpocket at the David Friend Recital Hall for the annual “R&B Guitar Night”. The following year I returned to the Berklee Performance Center stage as a lead vocalist in the annual “Singer’s Night” concert. I have performed at many venues in the Boston area including Mavericks, Ryles Jazz Club, Midway Cafe, O’Brien’s Pub, and The Red Room and have an upcoming gig at the Rockwood Music Hall in New York City, summer 2018. I recently released 2 singles this year on all platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and Google play and am in the midst of releasing my very first album. As a proud lyricist, I believe that the combination of word and music is the most powerful in the world, and hope that my songs and lyrics move others as much as they have moved me.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The number one struggle was with confidence. I had established this great love for music but could only deal with the stress of performing when in larger groups, like choir, orchestra, or a musical cast. My fear of being a solo singer, performing on my own, was very crippling and often times hindered my performance and resulted in self-doubt and discouragement.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Autumn Jones – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a lyricist, a performer, and most importantly a musician. I study Professional Music at Berklee and specialize in Music Business, Performance, and Songwriting. I am known for my metaphorical lines, and sultry sound along with my unique voice. I am most proud of how far I’ve come in terms of my love for live performances. What sets me apart from others is my independence and drive which has allowed me to land the gigs that I do. I’m an independent artist and so I prioritize my communication with venues to perform as much as I can.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
This summer will mark the release of my first album “Bloom”. The album will be available on all major music platforms. I also have performances scheduled throughout the summer in New Jersey, New York City, and Boston. I have gotten together with a team and we currently planning my merch and branding to gain a bigger fan base.
