Anne, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Ever since I was little, I can remember being able to hear, see and feel energy that was around me. I always felt and knew that there was something magic out there but I could never seem to quite grasp what it was. I’ve always been drawn to and enchanted by the ocean and the woods. Those are the places where I would most closely connect to this sense of magic that I felt but couldn’t quite define. I have always collected beautiful rocks, crystals and stones, yet didn’t realize as a child why the attraction was so strong. I now can recognize that it was the powerful energy of these stones that drew me to them and not simply a visual fascination.
Music has always been a strong and healing presence in my life. It grounds me, it soothes me and it brings me immeasurable pleasure. I took piano and flute lessons for many years, my siblings and I performed as a
quartet. I played the organ for church services and I majored in music in college.
As an adult, I’ve always turned to and relied on a holistic approach, using homeopathic and all-natural ways of treating myself and my family when possible.
I began my path of energy work and healing during a session with a medium. It was there that I realized that all the energy that I had been hearing and seeing my whole life was real and that there were people who could show me how to access and harness those feelings to use for healing and helping others. It was in this place that I learned about an energy healing force called Reiki.
I started taking Reiki and it resonated with me instantly. Reiki is a gentle, hands-on healing method that enables people to relax and realize their own innate power to help heal themselves. Learning Reiki has given me the ability to tune into and learn to really trust my ‘gut instinct’ or intuition. I am able to feel other people’s energy and, with intention, let the power of Reiki be directed where it needs to go for each person’s needs.
I am where I am today after studying and incorporating numerous healing modalities including polarity, sound healing and spiritual guidance. I have taken classes in mediumship, crystal healing, flower essences as well as essential oils. All of this enables me to tailor each session to best address each client’s unique situation.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Reaching this point in my life was not a smooth road. I was raised in the little-known religion of Christian Science by parents who strictly adhered to its principles and rules. The ‘magic’ I was tuning into was outside of the religion’s structure and not something my parents were open to discussing.
However, believing in angels was an acceptable part of the faith. For me, angels were a comforting blanket of protection and love, wrapped around me. Angels gave me a feeling of peace and security that I was unable to find elsewhere.
One of the key tenets of the religion was that physical ailments needed to be healed solely through prayer. We did not go to doctors, and this difference from the other kids at school really set me apart socially. I was always worried that the form of prayer that my parents used wasn’t going work and that I would be left in pain and suffering.
As a teenager, I was sent to a boarding school that practiced my parents’ religion. For the first time, I felt acceptance and true camaraderie, finally being around kids who had been raised like me. While I was there, I developed a life-threatening infection and since prayer was the only available method of treatment, I immersed myself in any and all types of prayer possible. It was a long road to complete healing but I learned how powerful prayer can be in any form.

My business provides Reiki and intuitive energy healing. Clients come to me with a wide array of needs. After consulting with the client and tuning into their energy, I am able to customize a session designed to provide the outcome that best works for them. I am best known for my ability to clear energy in the auric field and help my clients move into a place of self-knowledge and deep peace. This enables them to better participate in their own healing process.
One of the things that sets me apart from other businesses is that I offer Indian Head Massage. This is an Ayurvedic healing technique originating from India. This technique involves a gentle and rhythmic touch, including acupressure points, and provides many physical and psychological benefits. Many people find it to be an exceptional relaxation experience.
Another unique offering are my healing sessions using the AromaTouch Technique, which is a specialized way of applying high quality essential oils to promote a feeling of well-being and inner peace.
I am a Reiki Master Teacher and teach people how to do Reiki in three different class levels. I offer Reiki shares for my students, where they can come and practice what they’ve learned. I hold guided meditations and also teach a variety of energy-related classes.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Plans for the future include continuing to expand my business by adding and teaching more classes and continuing with my healing work. I recently decided to leave my job in Special Education to focus on my healing practice. I have faith that hard work and following my intuition will always help me to succeed in whatever I endeavor to accomplish.
