Conversations with the Inspiring Manaelle Danier and Bianca Falite

Today we’d like to introduce you to Manaelle Danier and Bianca Falite.

Please kick things off for us, where does this story begin?
Rosemary Park Hair Salon was established in 2011. My husband and I bought the business from the previous owners in October 2016. I am a Hair Stylist and have always wanted to start my own business since I was a little girl. Even though my husband was very busy working as an Aerospace Engineer, he managed to help me get my dream to become a reality. This was such a blessing from God to be able to open this multicultural Hair Salon to provide great service to the Boston community. Since I speak 4 languages such as Haitian Creole, French, Spanish and English it makes it easier for me to serve clients who are from different part of the world. Our focus in that business is to help people feel better, healthier and look even more beautiful and confident when they leave the Salon. Also, we strive to make sure our customer’s hair is NATURALLY glowing, growing, and living when they leave the Salon. Most importantly, all the services we offer are affordable.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. There were some obstacles and struggles along the way. The best thing I did was that I didn’t give up on my dream. When things got very hard for me, I went on my knees and prayed to God for direction and wisdom. I also was not afraid to seek help and advice from other women and leaders who have been successful in this industry as business owners. The hardest part was to get started and open up the business. However, after I opened the business and was able to slowly build up my clientele. The clients kept on coming back for hair services because they liked the service and treatment they have been getting. This is when things started to make more sense to me because I was able to see that I was accomplishing something great within the community.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Rosemary Park Hair Salon story. Tell us more about the business.
Manaelle – I am really good at putting crochet hair for my clients, hair extension (weave) and blow dry etc. I am also specialized in putting good treatment for the women to help repair their hair. Almost all of the women that I provide hair services to, ends up getting more hair naturally because of the way I take care of their hair for them and I usually tell them what to do at home to maintain their hair better.

Bianca – I am really good at doing a haircut, highlight, and color. I can also cut men, women and children hair in all different styles. I am really good at listening to the clients in order to really find out what they want to do with their hair so I can do what they want to make sure they are satisfied.

Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
Manaellle: I have been inspired by one of my aunts named Lucie. She is a very smart and business-minded woman. She has a lot of skills and talent as a caterer and decorator. She is very efficient and fast at what she does. She has a heart for people and helping and loving people. She valued everyone for who they are. Because of her dedication in what she does, she inspired me to continue to love people and make people happier as a Hairstylist by the way I treat them and make them feel as they walk into my business.

Whoopi Goldberg has also been a great role model for me as a woman. She is a very hard working woman who has been very successful in many areas such as an actress, entertainer, co-host, moderator and businesswoman, etc. Goldberg is one of the few people to win an Oscar, a Grammy, a Tony, and an Emmy. She has been in over 150 films. Just to name a few of her accomplishments, Goldberg has received two Academy Award nominations, for The Color Purple and Ghost, winning for Ghost. She is the first African American to have received Academy Award nominations for both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress. The fact that she was raised by a single mother and things were not very easy for her growing up. She still managed to accomplish many great things in her life by taking advantage of the opportunities that were offered to her. Her story and accomplishments have inspired many women and young girls around the world. This proved that anyone can become successful in whatever they choose to pursue in life if that person has a passion and is dedicated to his/her dreams in life.

Bianca: I was inspired by my mom because she is a beautiful woman inside and out caring, supportive loving and selfless person and I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without her.

Also, Kat Von D (a famous tattoo artist makeup artist model; television star) has inspired me and my look because she was the first woman to be a famous tattoo model in my generation. Besides that she is a very talented makeup artist that has inspired my look in some ways, she also has her own makeup line which I love and use every day. Her style and her makeup and the collaborations she’s done with famous hair stylists also inspire me with my job and techniques that I use as a hairdresser/makeup artist, the looks are very trendy edgy and fun, and always different than everyone else which inspires me.
