Today we’d like to introduce you to Man Bartlett.
Man, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I began my career as an actor and studied acting, directing and playwriting at Emerson College. Since graduating, I’ve pursued a variety of artistic endeavors including painting, drawing, collage, performance art, online/interactive projects, and most recently sound art installations/performances. In all these paths, I’ve sought to experience, and reflect back, the world. As fully and deeply as possible.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I make a lot of different things, but my most recent project is The Vibratory Healing League. The mission of The League is to create a respite and counter-stimulative refuge from the chaos of contemporary life; a vessel for inter-dimensional travel-in-place, for the benefit of all sentient beings. Primarily, this manifests as durational sound performances, with other senses being activated through collaborations (such as food and scent).
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Stay open and stay generous of spirit.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
My work can be viewed on my site: http://www.manbartlett.com/the-vibratory-healing-league. And you can listen to a lot of my recent works on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/manbartlett.
