Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Perry.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My entrepreneurial career technically began in 2006, with a Home Party Photo Business, simultaneously caring for three young children, adding another baby to the mix in 2007. But in retrospect, I believe the entrepreneurial spirit, or bug if you want to call it, has been inside of me for most of my life. I have always had the mantra and frequently stated openly that I am that type of ‘Jack of all trades, but a master of none kind of person. In 2013 when I was creating Powerful Women Revealed a good friend had said, “Well Nicole, I believe you are about to be the master at one.” My eyes blew out wide like she had just handed me a giant piece of gold. I knew at that very moment, that my new passion was validated and my mission would soon be too.
Since the original idea came to me, I have fine-tuned my craft, supported many women on their entrepreneurial journeys and have learned and shared a plethora of knowledge and insight to my listeners. Today, I proudly sit with women each and every week, learning about their challenges, milestones, and successes, to help them reveal their stories in a way like no other.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
What I have created is not the traditional marketing platform that one typically thinks of when they think of FM Radio. There were some challenges in the beginning when just a few women had said, “Why would I pay to be interviewed?” To which I would share, “My program is integrated, you pay for the commercials, and the interview is simply the icing on the cake.” Aside from my transparent nature and how I have worked so hard to keep my program attainable for the average woman in business, who wants to gain more visibility if you were to ask me today that very same question, I would say, “Why wouldn’t you pay for something so priceless?”
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Powerful Women Revealed – what should we know?
I support women entrepreneurs and women in business, who want to reach thousands of people in the seven counties that surround Boston. After listening to one of my shows, (which I make him listen to all of them), my husband turned to me on one particular Sunday and said, “Well Nicole, I believe you have become the voice of trust.” Powerful Women Revealed is not just marketing and advertising, it’s a movement.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
One of my biggest advocates is Mr. Ed Perry, the owner of WATD. From the moment I met him and pitched my idea, he has not only believed in me but has also given me space to create what I saw my vision to be. Throughout the years, many people have asked if Ed is my dad, to which I have replied many times, “No, but I am available for adoption!”
