Meet Meredith Rodday of Meredith Rodday Design in Metrowest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meredith Rodday.

Meredith, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I discovered my passion for design by complete accident. I was deep in the throes of infertility treatments and was looking for a distraction so I started a blog.

I had no idea what I was going to blog about when I first started but it soon became clear that anything related to interior design was a huge source of interest for me. I started helping friends on the side for fun and then in 2015, I left my corporate job and career in HR to stay home with my kids (!) who were turning 3 at the time.

That fall I decided to turn my side hobby into something more and my design business was born! It quickly spread through word of mouth and last year I created the more formal name, Meredith Rodday Design, which is now a thriving design studio!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not! I knew nothing when I started and had to learn the business from the ground up. I threw myself into situations that were out of my comfort zone, fell down a couple of times, but got up and gained confidence as I went. I hadn’t even been to the Boston Design Center before one day in 2016 when I needed to source some fabric! There is still so much to learn!

Please tell us about Meredith Rodday Design.
Meredith Rodday Design is, clearly, an interior design business! I specialize in taking empty or outdated spaces and giving them new life with a fresh and modern feel. My personal style is a mix of east coast meets west coast with a clean, casual, and refined vibe. I pride myself on getting to get to know my clients on a personal level so that the end result truly represents their aesthetic – but with my twist!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I grew up riding horses so my favorite memory is being at the barn around all of the ponies and horses, totally in my element!
