Today we’d like to introduce you to Sachiko Furui.
Sachiko, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started Japanese Language Class Boston in 2009. It has been 8 years so far. It started only one class of 7 students. Now I have 15 classes to teach and 6 assistants to work with.
We teach at the private homes and large companies. Skype lessons are available also. Teaching style has changed in these 8 years. We use a lot of Power Points and TV screens than before.
We love people to study Japanese. I am very much pleased to hear the news that my students went to Japan and got a job or marry Japanese. World is smaller than before and people are easy to move around.
One of my school’s characters is to teach Japanese Culture such as Kimono wearing, Flower arrangement, Japanese cooking, Calligraphy class, Tea ceremony, and Koto playing. I am very much proud of my school which contribute cultural events on top of learning language.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There was up and down of course. But I always think this way when things do not go smoothly.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Japanese Language Class Boston – what should we know?
JLC is a Language school specializing Japanese Language.
There are 15 classes from Totally Beginner Class to Advanced Class. There are 2 types of Conversation Class and Grammar Class.
We also have two different textbooks to use. Therefore, you can choose your favorite textbook by the class.
Class is small and you will get very much personalized care from your instructor with low tuition.
Classrooms are beautiful and well kept clean daily. Free coffee and tea are provided at the cafeteria.
Culture classes will give you peek the precious Japanese history on top of Japanese manners.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Culture which I can provide through my school is the most important for me. Studying language needs to be supported by the culture understanding to make it powerful. You will never be disappointed to learn language and culture at the same time.
