Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Hanson.
Jessica, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started working at Sephora over seven years ago where my passion for makeup grew as I was able to learn amongst so many great artists. My sister and I decided to start our own business, Lamoureux Artistry because we are truly passionate about making people and our brides feel beautiful and confident on the most important day of their lives!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely starts off slow when trying to grow your own business from the ground up. We are so grateful for what social media has done for the growth of our business. Over the past couple of years, social media has really taken it to the next level!
Our advice for young women would be to keep at it, keep a positive attitude, and as long you keep your passion for what you do and your love to help people, there really is no limit to where it can take you!
What should we know about Lamoureux Artistry? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are two sisters, Brittany & Jessica, who travel the Greater Boston area for on-site makeup application and weddings. We both have been doing makeup for over seven years and have extensive training in bridal and special occasion makeup. We have been trained in up-to-date techniques and product knowledge within most well known professional makeup brands. We will create a gorgeous natural look for you to enhance your natural features while still looking polished and camera-ready – we will never make you feel uncomfortable, as this day is the most important day and it is entirely up to you!
We are most proud of being able to be apart of the most amazing day of a women’s life and allowing her to feel completely beautiful in her own skin.
What I think truly sets us apart are the relationships we create with our clients. We take pride in getting to know each individual person and customizing the entire experience to meet their exact needs.
It would be great to hear about any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve used and would recommend to others.
We love reading inspirational books and fashion magazines. We utilize social media a lot of the time to stay up-to-date on trends, looks, and new products. Some apps we use constantly would be Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.
