Check out Marco Marcel’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marco Marcel.

Marco, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I’m Marco 1/2 of Megazoyd from Charlotte, NC I moved to Boston to go to Berklee. I dropped out and is now staying for a bit to share my gift with the community. I have been doing music since I was 8 years old. My first instrument I played was the cello. I played throughout high school until my teacher challenged me to play Bass guitar at a talent show. When I started playing the bass I fell in love with it and started playing that since then I never looked back and Bass became my first love. There’s More. I always craved to challenge my mind musically as well. When I heard Kanye West – Touch the sky (the Curtis Mayfield move on up sample) I told myself that I wanted to produce music. My junior year of High School, I go to the church I played bass at and they had a Yamaha motif keyboard with a workstation where you can create songs. I went there almost every day after school to create music from all genres.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My art is an expression, another outlet for my mental health. It is a therapeutic way to express myself. I want people to hear my voice and interpret it any way they want to.

What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
I wish that I knew how to invest in myself earlier. I wish that I read more about the music business.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
Soundcloud, YouTube, Spotify, iTunes… etc. People can support it by sharing it, talking about it, donating money. Lol
