Meet Jessica Santacroce, Singer and Songwriter in Winthrop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Santacroce.

Jessica, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Music runs in my family. My father was an incredible Jazz Guitarist and Singer and would always play music around the house. I remember he would play songs and have me sing. I was always memorized by his music and singing voice. As I got older I developed an interest in playing guitar. He showed me how to play a couple of Spanish ballads and some Led Zeppelin songs. Since I was not able to spend much time with my father, because we lived apart. I taught myself how to play the guitar and eventually write music. I’ve played many live shows in the Boston area but when I really started to thrive as a musician is when I taught myself how to use audio engineering technology. This way I am able to produce albums and distribute them digitally. I use music as an outlet. I do it for enjoyment and it connects me to my higher self. I feel as though it brings closure to any situation that I am going through and it helps me process it. This to me is success.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Performing and creating is something I absolutely love doing so there is no struggle. When we make things complicated when they don’t have to be, that’s when we create any kind of struggle in life.

Jessica Santacroce – Singer and Songwriter – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in songwriting, production and live performance. I am most proud of being self-taught and having a different/unique sound and technique to things. I think what sets my music apart from others is that it is just simply….different.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is what you make of it. The music industry is a tricky business. As of right now, I chose to not use music as my main source of income even though I have the ability to do so. This may or may not change depending on if I feel like I want to or not. I do this for the healing and growth of my own soul and this is my definition of success. My number one goal is to write music that other people can relate to and actually feel.
