Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Delano.
Jordan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have loved fashion and hair ever since I can remember. I would get magazines from the store and cut out pictures of celebrities and models. I would always try different things to my hair from different cuts and colors to different styles.
Has it been a smooth road?
I have been a licensed cosmetologist for 6 years. I have been growing my education and love for hair ever since. 2 years after I finished beauty school I had my daughter Lily when I was 24, it somewhat set me back a little with being out of the eye of the industry but I got back into it and she is my now my everyday motivation. I work at an amazing salon with an amazing group of women. I travel to classes in New York and around Massachusetts to further my knowledge in the ever changing industry. It gives me great pride knowing I can help make a difference in how someone can positively see themselves, and that is why I do what I do!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Salon de Cheveux Boston story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a hair stylist in a small boutique salon in south Boston. I love everything from styling hair to coloring it. My favorite thing is balayage and blondes. I think I take a careful yet knowledgeable approach to damaged hair. Healthy hair is my number one priority. I love working with clients who have had issues with their hair from a previous salon and slowly build back a trust with them. I educate them on products and at home hair care.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see the industry sky rocketing in the coming years. The artist in this industry are so creative and the sky is the limit. I can’t wait to continue to learn more and grow.
