Art & Life with Kathrine Narducci

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathrine Narducci.

Kathrine , please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I was born and raised in east Harlem nyc. I come from a very creative mother and aunt. They were always singing , Dancing and writing . My mother wrote amazing poem’s . We watched old movies around the clock . All these thing’s inspired me tremendously and have great influence in my Art. My mother was very artistically expressive she pushed me in a good way to be the same. I alway’s loves art in school . I loved that you can express yourself without speaking you can put feelings on canvas ,paper whatever you have and show who you are through that . I always wanted to be an actress as far back as I could remember I loved acting thing’s out me and my mother would act out all the scenes from the old movie’s we’d watch. I felt extremely close to her at those time’s and maybe now when I look back I equate that art to love .

Because any form of art is sharing your deepest most intimate feelings through music, acting, writing . As I got older in my early 20’s I really started to paint on a regular basis I was dealing with so many heartaches and losses in my life one of the biggest my mother. When I paint I heal and I’m lucky to have found that . Painting is mine I create it all it’s all me nobody to blame if people don’t like it unlike film when you act you can blame someone else if it’s sucks lol. Well even if it’s great other people get the credit . Painting is entirely you and I’m not looking for credit or validation I’m Looking to share and give to the world and expose who I really am and that mean’s Freedom to me . Freedom to be me .

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
My art come’s from a place of release. Release of what’s bottled up inside me hurt, dissapointment. Successes, love, anxietie’s and past memorie’s. When I have a strong feeling about something that’s happened in my life on an everyday basis or past experience that’s in my subconscious it seem’s to push it’s way out through art . I do the same thing with the Acting especially on stage which is totally freeing. When I paint I feel the most freedom I feel closest to my real self . I’m in touch with the deepest part of me and every feeling comes out a Color shape and form onto canvas . I’m not at all trained except for nude drawing classes.

That really inspired me with my abstract figures which are my favorite. Abstract is what I mostly do figure’s , portrait’s and shapes. I love acrylics because I’m a very hyper person and they work fast like me . I’ve tried oil I couldn’t deal with waiting for it to dry. I also use spray paint, marker’s and pencil. I would love people to take away the feeling of freedom to be yourself live the life you wanted , to be true to them self. I also Sculpt with clay which I taught myself as well. Figurative mostly torso’s and heads. I’m actually going to take a class for wheel throwing soon .
