Alan Bilzerian’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alan Bilzerian’s story.

Alan Bilzerian was first established in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1967, bringing the finest technical and aesthetic expressions in clothing to New England. The Bilzerian family continues to develop new ideas in design with European and Japanese partners, complementing their own collections of knitwear, jewelry, shoes and menswear, in both their Boston and Newton Centre locations.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Style isn’t about trends; it’s an understanding of oneself and an expression of that understanding. It’s hard to sell clothing to someone who hasn’t considered or isn’t aware of the language of their own self-image and who may only deliberate aesthetic choices in relation to their surroundings.

Please tell us about Alan Bilzerian.
Alan Bilzerian is a men’s and women’s boutique specializing in the curation of European and Japanese clothing and accessories. The work is what separates us from others. One can have an understanding of their own aesthetic priorities, but there are a lot of moving parts to making it real; for example, shipping and travel, an educated and trained staff, and a workspace that reflects the values inherent in a principled expression. This requires constant attention to maintain.
